Multiple banners - IVY Productions, Maruthi Team, Sithara Entertainments, aha Studios - came together to produce the rural family drama Intinti Ramayanam. The film was written and directed by the debutant Suresh Neredla. Rahul Ramakrishna, Naresh, Navya Swamy played the lead roles in the drama which released in theatres on June 9 and opened to modest responses at the box office.
While the rural drama was to arrive on OTT directly, the makers revised their plans and ensured it a theatrical release this June. Several premieres were organised across multiple cities in the Telugu states prior to its release as well. aha acquired its post-theatrical streaming rights and premiered the film this weekend on June 23. The treatment of the film is likely to impress streaming enthusiasts.
Surabhi Prabhavathi, Gangavva, Anji Mama, Chevella Ravi, Jeevan, Radhika, Stefen Madhu essayed other supporting roles0 in the film. Kalyani Malik composed the songs (lyrics by Kasarla Shyam) while Kamran worked on the background score. P C Mouli cranked the camera for the film which was edited by S B Uddhav. Sripal was the production designer of the rural dramedy.
The story is centred on Ramulu (Naresh), a simple, elderly patriarch, who treats his near and dear with affection. A neighbour Srinivas (Rahul Ramakrishna) falls in love with Ramulu’s daughter Sandhya (Navya Swamy). When Ramulu’s wife and other family members leave the house for a few days, an expensive piece of jewellery goes missing. Where’s the tale headed?
The performances of the lead cast and the rooted treatment received praise while a few felt the film lacked emotional depth. aha premiered another film this Friday - Malli Pelli - also headlined by Intinti Ramayanam’s actor Naresh and his wife Pavitra Lokesh. The streamer’s recent releases were Ranasthali, Newsense, Emi Sethura Linga, MenToo, Addateegala, Poster.
