The International Emmy Awards are back yet again to celebrate the cream of the crop when it comes to exemplary television content. The 49th edition of the prestigious awards, where India has also created a mark with several nominations, can be enjoyed by viewers from the comfort of their homes while the ceremony takes place in New York.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been nominated in the category of Best Performance by an Actor for his role in the satirical comedy-drama, Serious Men. The Netflix original tells the story of a father who peddles a startling lie about his son, which lands the man in trouble.
Sushmita Sen starrer Aarya has bagged a nomination for Best Drama Series. The Disney+ Hotstar show tells the story of a determined woman who takes it upon herself to avenge her husband’s death.
In the category of Best Comedy, the Vir Das’ stand up special for Netflix, titled For India, has secured a nomination.
Has India been nominated for Emmys before?
In 2020, India had received three nominations as well. Made in Heaven star Arjun Mathur was nominated in the category of Best Actor. Delhi Crime and Four More Shots Please! were nominated for Best Drama and Best Comedy Series respectively. Delhi Crime won the award in the respective category.
