Telugu cinema, or let's just say, the Indian film industry, is all set to witness its first-ever supergirl film Indrani soon. The film is written, directed and produced by Stephen. Starring Yaanea Bharadwaj, Kabir Duhan Singh, Franitha Jijina, Garima Kaushal in pivotal roles, the film went on floors recently. The team has spent nearly two years for Indrani's pre-production while the first glimpse, character posters from the film were released a few days ago.
Earlier today, the first look of Shataf Figar from the film was launched. The actor, who was seen in Amazon Prime Video's Shershah and Arya Season 2 on Disney Hotstar recently, is cast in the role of General Dyer in Indrani. While launching the first look of Shataf Figar, the makers mentioned that Shataf’s on-screen confrontation with Indrani will be one of the film's major highlights. In the avatar of a police officer while sporting a beard, Shatif is seen smoking a cigar in the poster.
In a statement, the director Stephen added that Telugu audiences haven't witnessed a proper time-travel after Singeetham Srinivasa Rao's Aditya 369 which released in 1991. The filmmaker is confident that he'll re-introduce the time travel concept to Telugu audiences in a bigger, unique manner with Indrani. The supergirl film will be loved by kids and they'll be thrilled to watch such larger-than-life characters, which they could earlier see in Hollywood superhero films alone, Stephen added.
Final VFX work in Indrani, based on pre-visualization, has already commenced and is progressing at a brisk pace across various VFX studios. Edited by SB Uddhav, the film will have cinematography by Charan Madhavaneni. Sai Kartheek is scoring the music while Premsun and Ravikumar Gurram are on board as action director and art director respectively. Indrani will hit theatres in multiple languages on October 27 this year.
