Mollywood audience, who are still hesitant to go the theatres to catch new releases, have much to cheer about in the coming months. Joining the list of Dulquer Salmaan’s Salute , Manju Warrier’s Lalitham Sundaram, Mammootty’s Puzhu and Mohanlal’s 12th Man as direct-to-release will be Indrajith Sukumaran’s Anuradha Crime No. 59/2019, as per reports.

The film, directed by Shan Thulaseedharan, is based on a true incident and has Indrajith in the role of a circle inspector who works as part of the Crime Branch. The thriller, which completed its shoot last year, also has Surabhi Lakshmi, Anu Sithara, Ramesh Pisharody, Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Harishree Ashokan as part of its cast.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, talking about the film, Shan, who has also co-written the film’s screenplay with Jose Thomas Polackal, said, “Through the film, we are trying to show what happens to people whose lives are misunderstood by society. For instance, if a daughter is missing or dead, it’s the parents’ version should be trusted more than the others who speculate.”

The team had recently revealed a teaser from the film and are reportedly negotiating with OTT platforms for its release. The movie will mark Indrajith’s second direct-to-OTT release after Halal Love Story in 2020 that is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Indrajith, who had two theatrical releases last year – Kurup and Aaha, is set for Vysakh’s Night Drive to hit cinema halls on March 11. The actor plays a cop named CI Benni Moopen in the film, which also has Anna Ben and Roshan Mathew in the lead.

He will also be seen playing a police officer in M Padmakumar’s Pathaam Valavu, which is again a thriller based on a real-life incident. The film, scripted by Abhilash Pillai, also has Suraj Venjaramoodu playing the other central character.
