Indian Police Force: Shilpa Shetty says that she had to gain weight and sport a muscular look for the series

Also starring Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi, the show is helmed by Rohit Shetty for Amazon Prime Video.

Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, which consists of some popular Hindi movies such as Singham, is getting bigger with Indian Police Force, a show that is coming to Amazon Prime Video. Shilpa Shetty, who will be playing a major role in the series, has now opened up about how she had to do a physical makeover to do her role in the show.

The actor revealed that filming was tricky because she was also working on director Sonal Joshi’s Sukhee. “I gained around four kilos for Rohit’s show. I had to sport a different look for Sukhee. So, my weight was yo-yoing during these two projects. I had to look tough and muscular for Indian Police Force,” Shilpa Shetty Kundra said as reported by Mid-Day.

While Rohit Shetty’s cop universe has constantly seen testosterone-driven macho men in the lead, Shilpa is excited for her role in the upcoming series. Talking about the same, she said that it is a big compliment to be cast by the director and that it is a hero’s role, which she has manifested.

Amazon Prime Video made the big announcement about Rohit Shetty’s OTT debut a few months back. They also announced Shilpa, Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi as the show’s main cast with first look posters for all the three. The show also marks the OTT debut of Shilpa and Sidharth, while Vivek Oberoi has previously done multiple seasons of Inside Edge.

Shilpa was last seen in director Sabbir Khan’s action comedy Nikamma, co-starring Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia. The movie hit theatres earlier this month but did not have a great box office run.
