Indian Police Force - Shilpa Shetty Kundra reveals the real reason why she joined Rohit Shetty's cop-universe

Indian Police Force sees Shilpa Shetty as Rohit Shetty's first female cop.

The cast of Rohit Shetty's first series, Indian Police Force, has included Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra as the first female cop in the cop universe. Starring Sidharth Malhotra as a Delhi Police officer, the action series is directed and produced by Rohit Shetty and will be released on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video.

Shilpa now revealed the reason why she joined Shetty's cop universe. She said that her eleven-and-a-half-year-old son, Viaan Raj Kundra, is especially thrilled to see her in the show as a police officer in an interview with News18 Showsha.

She said that her daughter is too young and is not allowed to watch television. In the past three years, her son Viaan has hardly begun to watch movies. He loves Rohit's movies, says the actress. “I did Indian Police Force for Viaan along with all the women in our forces who put in so much unconditional and selfless work. This series is an ode to my son,” she said.

It was quite difficult for her to land a role in Rohit's cop verse because she was also filming for Sukhee, and the conflicting shoot dates made it nearly impossible for her to say yes to the Indian Police Force. "I couldn’t change those dates around but Rohit came on a horse, saying that he had to shoot a certain combination and it was just a mad time,” Shilpa was quoted as saying.

For the uninitiated Sukhee star Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Rohit Shetty were unable to work together on Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006. This time, almost 17 years later, they are now united and are preparing for the release of Indian Police Force, their first joint collaboration.

Rohit Shetty is making his cop-universe debut with Indian Police Force. The show also stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi. It is all set for a release on Amazon Prime Video on January 19, 2024.
