The upcoming series will mark the web series debut of both Shetty and Malhotra.
Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe just got bigger and more exciting today, as the popular filmmaker recently announced his upcoming web series, Indian Police Force. The series will see him collaborate with Sidharth Malhotra for the first time ever for a cop drama, which seems to have already gotten fans fired up. To add to the excitement, the announcement also gave viewers a glimpse into Malhotra’s badass cop avatar and needless to say, netizens could not keep calm.
Twitter erupted with fans expressing their elation at this new addition to Shetty’s popular Cop Universe. The announcement video seemed to receive an overwhelmingly positive response from most users, who called it ‘phenomenal’ and ‘kickass’. One user said they ‘never expected’ a collaboration between Malhotra and Shetty and hoped that the series would ‘surprise’ them. Calling the announcement ‘kickass’ , another wrote that the video gave them ‘goosebumps’ and appreciated the background music. Yet another user predicted that this would be ‘India’s biggest Action series ever’.
Fans also could not get enough of Malhotra’s fiery new avatar as a cop in the web series. One user wrote that his character is ‘coming to rule Bollywood’, while another said the actor was in ‘fire mode’.
A user also talked about how excited they were to see Malhotra as a ‘super cop’ after his performance in Shershaah, which was also an OTT release on AMazon Prime Video. Another said that the project was a collaboration between someone who ‘knows what audience wants’ and another who ‘serves what audience wants’.
Up until now, Shetty’s Cop Universe consisted of the films he helmed. They include Singham (2011),Singham Returns (2014),Simmba (2018), Sooryavanshi(2021). Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar starred in the films. Indian Police Force marks the web series debut of both Shetty and Malhotra.
Indian Police Force will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. A release date for the web series is yet to be announced.
