Pradhyuman Maloo and Ashima Chauhaan got married in February 2022.
Pradhyuman Maloo, the successful entrepreneur who rose to prominence in the first season of Indian Matchmaking in 2020, has unexpectedly become embroiled in a legal dispute. In the Netflix series, he was very picky when it came to marriage offers and had extremely high standards for a life partner. He returned for a second season in 2022 after having secretly married actor-model Ashima Chauhaan. What at first seemed like a blossoming romance has taken a troubling turn.
As per reports in the Hindustan Times, the Mumbai Police have issued a FIR against Pradhyuman and his family. Ashima, his wife, has filed a complaint against him for severe domestic violence. They had been dating for two years before tying the knot in a lavish ceremony in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in February 2022. But in September of 2022, when Ashima moved out, the story took a sharp turn. She claims in the FIR that her husband and his family subjected her to physical and emotional abuse. She also claims that her own family was blackmailed and harassed at this time.
Ashima's lawyer gives a statement
Ashima Chauhaan's lawyer, Anmol Bartaria, stressed the seriousness of the matter and told Mid Day that the allegations in the FIR lodged are grave and concerning, with domestic violence and constant mental and physical abuse at the core. The investigation into the situation has only begun and must continue at full speed. Ashima is now pursuing legal action against the perpetrator in accordance with the law.
The lawyer explained that Ashima is not in the right frame of mind to make comments because of the emotional anguish she is going through. She has family in Bengaluru, so that's where she is right now.
Pradhyuman Maloo reacts
The tabloid reported that Pradhyuman was taken aback when he was informed of the FIR. He claimed he didn't know about it. The entrepreneur further said that, to the best of his knowledge, they are currently engaging in settlement talks with solicitors in an effort to amicably address their marital troubles.

Indian Matchmaking's Rushali Rai has THIS to say
Rushali Rai, one of Pradhyuman's possible suitors on the show, reacted with surprise at the events. She told the tabloid that he doesn't seem like that kind of guy. Rushali knew they were splitting up but had no idea domestic violence was a factor; thus, this contradicts all she knows about him.
