The shooting of Indian 2 commenced more than three years ago, but the makers are yet to announce a release date. There are reports about the movie hitting the screens in August 2024. Director Shankar has now come up with a surprise, leaving fans of Kamal Haasan excited.

He has released a poster featuring Kamal in the aged get-up. Though the poster doesn't have anything new to boast of, cinephiles are elated with the fact that the makers are finally ready to offer updates.
Major update in the offing
The poster has mentioned that a kick-ass update can be expected on November 3. Kamal Haasan's birthday falls on November 7 and an update on Ulaganayagan's film with Mani Ratnam is expected on the special occasion. It looks like the Indian 2 team has decided to begin celebrations a couple of days earlier.
Fans are keeping their fingers crossed now and have started guesswork on what the update could be. The project marks the second collaboration of Kamal and Shankar after Indian which was released in 1996.
Happy days for Kamal fans ahead
A promo of Kamal's film with H Vinoth was unveiled a few weeks ago, leaving everyone intrigued. Tentatively titled KH 233, the movie is being produced by the former's Raaj Kamal Films International. The production house is bankrolling Mani Ratnam's project as well.
Besides, Sivakarthikeyan-Rajkumar Periyasamy's SK 21 and Silambarsan-Desingh Periyasamy's STR 48 are other films that are being produced by RKFI. It is heard that a Dhanush-starrer will also be bankrolled by the production house soon. The huge success of Vikram has enabled RKFI to invest in back-to-back movies.
