Indian 2 collection day 2: Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s film crawls at the box office

Indian 2 collection day 2: Indian 2 is part of a trilogy, with Indian available on Aha Tamil for streaming. The third installment, Indian 3, is expected in 2025.

Indian 2 hit theatres on Friday (July 12), and has disappointed many of the fans. The film which stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role, is the sequel to the 1996 film Indian directed by Shankar. However, the sequel which reunited Kamal and Shankar once again, failed to concoct the same magic once again onscreen. With the film performing average at the box office, let's find out how well it scored on day two of its release.

Indian 2: Day two box office collection

We had earlier reported that the day one collections for Indian 2 was around Rs 26 crore in all languages. The film released in Hindi as Hindustani 2 and Telugu as Bharateeyudu 2. On its second day, Indian 2 has collection Rs 16.70 crore net, including all languages, as per a report by Sacnilk. With a total collection of RS 42.3 crore in all languages, the film still has a long way to go before it can be delivered a hit.

Indian 2 opened to mixed to negative responses from public and critics alike. Kamal Haasan returns to play his iconic character Senapathy, a former freedom fighter turned vigilante against corruption. The film is backed by Lyca Productions and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Actors Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Vivkeh, Bobby Simha, SJ Suryah, and others play pivotal roles in the film.

Where to watch Indian

Indian is the first instalment in the trilogy franchise. Unlike Indian 2, Indian was met with roaring response and reviews at the time of its release. The film is available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium.

With Indian 2 release, scores of audience point out that the charm of Indian couldn’t be recreated in the sequel. It starred Manisha Koirala, Senthil, Goudamani, Ambika and others. AR Rahman had scored the music.

It is to be noted that the makers of Indian 2 had announced that third part, Indian 3, is in the making and will release sometime in 2025.
