Virat Kohli walks back to the pavilion for a duck.
After making a comeback and literally taking India to good scores, all expected the same from Virat Kohli in the must-win clash against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2022.
However, the host nation, who bounced back after their first game loss went on to dismiss opener KL Rahul and Kohli.
Brilliant stuff from Sri Lanka as soon after Rahul's dismissal, Kohli was sent back to the pavilion for a duck by Dilshan Madushanka.
The whole stadium could be heard going silent soon after the dismissal, but it was the noise of Lankan fans that could later be heard.
Talking about the clash, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had lost the toss and were asked to bat first.
The Men in Blue made one change in the playing XI and replaced young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi with experienced campaigner, Ravichandran Ashwin.
"The grass is lesser tonight. It looks drier, and we have one change on the basis of the Sri Lankan team: Ashwin comes in for Bishnoi," Sharma had said after the toss
As for Sri Lanka, they went with the same 11 players that were involved in the victory against Afghanistan. "The coaching staff and the players have created the environment for the new players to come in and deliver. No changes in our team," skipper Dasun Shanaka said.
