The bilingual project starring Naga Chaitanya and Krithi Shetty has been titled NC 22,
Venkat Prabhu, Yuvan, Raja and Srinivasaa
The news of Venkat Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya teaming up for a Tamil-Telugu movie has been doing the rounds for a long time. They made it official a couple of months ago. Earlier today, the makers announced that Krithi Shetty has been roped in to essay the female lead in the project which has been tentatively titled NC 22.
But little did movie buffs expect that the icing on the cake was yet to arrive. Venkat excitedly announced that both Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing music for the movie. This is the second time the father-son duo have joined hands for a film.
Ilaiyaraaja has now taken to his Twitter page to post a video wishing success to the filmmaker who also happens to be his brother's son. The legendary musician chose to speak in Telugu as the director is making his directorial debut in Tollywood with the project.
He said, "Venkat Prabhu, all the best. You are someone who carved a niche for yourself in the film industry without my support and your father's support. I'm happy to know that you are officially beginning the movie."
Raja added that though he regrets not attending the film's launching ceremony today, his blessings will always be there for Venkat Prabhu. He also surprised everyone by revealing that he has completed composing songs for the movie. The elated filmmaker thanked Raja for his gesture and said it is his "Oscar moment". An update on the first single and other details about the film is expected to be out soon.
The first film for which both Raja and Yuvan came together to compose music was Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Maamanithan which is hitting the screens tomorrow. The long-delayed project directed by Seenu Ramasamy has been bankrolled by Yuvan Shankar Raja himself.
