N S Nagabhushana plays the male lead in Kannada film Ikkat, which released on Amazon Prime Video on July 21.
Kannada film Ikkat released on OTT earlier in the week on July 21. The movie has been lauded for its comedy.
Actor N S Nagabhushana, who stars in the film as the male lead, is also pleased with the response the film has received, especially with regards to the comedy aspect.
Stating that he realizes how important comedy is in people's lives, the actor states his happiness to have contributed to the feeling in some way. "Making people laugh is a great contribution to society and I am happy that I have played my part in it with the film Ikkat," the actor told Sakshi Post.
Nagabhushana shared that he watched a lot of comedy films from the 80s and 90s during the lockdown. He said that it was after watching the films that he came to the realisation of how important comedy is in a society.
Nagabhushana plays the role of Basu in the film. He starred opposite Bhoomi Shetty, who is seen as Jhanvi in the movie.
Talking about her debut with Ikkat, Bhoomi had previously shared that she 'did not expect a project like it to come her way'. The actress had already seen Nagabhushana's French Biryani and was in awe of the actor.
Bhoomi and Nagabhushana play the role of husband and wife in the film. Talking about her character, Bhoomi had called Jhanvi 'a little irritating'. She described the character as someone who isn't attached to her husband per say but cares for him a little.
Ikkat is based in the lockdown era. It portrays relatable and hilarious situations in a smart way. The film can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
