Tabu is one of the most well-known Indian female actors in the West, with several leading parts. She had a prominent role in The Namesake and her performance in Life of Pi was also well received. During an interaction with Hindustan Times, the actor was asked if she had any international projects in her kitty.

To which the actor responded by saying there wasn't an international project going on yet. The actor now has five films in her kitty. She shared that she has started Drishyam 2 and Bholaa and doesn't think she will be able to take anything else this year. But why not if something wonderful comes from the West?

She laments the fact that the pandemic has kept her from travelling internationally till now. Tabu hasn't taken one in a long time, whether for film or otherwise. All she wanted to do was sit on one and go somewhere. She didn't notice that during the pandemic it was just like being in an airport lounge while in transit to another country. The time in between two flights is one of her favourites, and that is the most powerful period for her.

Is Tabu seeing a shift in the types of roles that Indian performers are getting in Hollywood? To which the actor replied that they have made significant inroads and are doing their fair bit of work. The world will gradually become more open. Regrettably, the pandemic struck just as things were beginning to blossom and evolve. Tabu is hoping for more collaboration and other things.

What makes her even happier is that more exciting parts are being offered to female actors in particular. The actor would want to discuss films and characters from all around the world. It's virtually a requirement now that women are given incredibly interesting characters to play nowadays, whether on OTT or TV, which was really big 20 years ago.
