'Unacceptable', 'Shameful' 'he deserves an apology is what trended on social media after a video of the Governor of Manipur and West Bengal La Ganesan was seen 'pushing' Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri during an award ceremony.
Chhetri's Bengaluru FC on Sunday won the Durand Cup final and during the post-match presentation, Governor La Ganesan was presenting the Durand Cup trophy to Sunil Chhetri.
However, in the now gone viral video, the Governor can be seen pushing away Chhetri, so that he can be seen properly in the photos being taken.
Former India batter Robin Uthappa come out in support of Chhetri. He said, "That's just all sorts of wrong!! Sorry @chetrisunil11 you deserve so much better than this!!".
The incident surely did not sit well with fans as well and they flooded social media.
Talking about the game, Siva Sakthi and Brazilian Alan Costa scored for Bengaluru FC (BFC) which helped them win against Mumbai City FC (MCFC), which saw Apuia get their lone goal.
