Directed by Rambhala, the movie also stars Redin Kingsley, Akshara Gowda, Anandaraj and Urvashi
There have been a number of Tamil horror comedies that have awed the audience in the past few years. The latest one is Idiot starring Shiva and Nikki Galrani. A new announcement from the makers has confirmed when the film will screen in cinemas.
Screen Scene Media Entertainment tweeted that Idiot will be released on April 1, also commonly understood as April Fool’s Day. Along with this announcement, they also shared a poster featuring Shiva, and Redin Kingsley in a nurse's attire holding a plant.
In April last year, the official trailer was unveiled, which started off with Galrani as a ghost. The trailer itself packed a few punchline comedies including a short sequence where Shiva and Kingsley turn the tables, and scare a ghost.
Idiot is directed by Rambala, who is popular for the horror comedy Dhilluku Dhuddu and its sequel Dhilluku Dhuddu 2. The movie stars Akshara Gowda, Anandaraj, Urvashi, Mayilsamy, Singamuthu and Ravi Mariya.
Shiva, the actor, comedian, RJ and dialogue writer was last seen in the parody film Tamizh Padam 2 directed by C. S. Amudhan. The movie was a sequel to Amudhan’s successful Thamizh Padam also with Shiva in the lead. The actor is also working on the sports comedy Sumo and Kasethan Kadavulada.
Nikki Galrani was last seen in the family drama Raajavamsam directed by debutant K. V. Kathirvelu co-starring M. Sasikumar. The movie received negative reviews and failed to do well. The actor is also working on the Malayalam movie Virunnu, directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam.
