Identity OTT release date: Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan’s action-thriller is all set to begin streaming, here’s when and where to watch the film online

Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan’s Malayalam action-thriller is all set to begin streaming in less than a month after its theatrical release. The movie, which is directed by Forensic makers Anas Khan and Akhil Paul, was the first Malayalam theatrical release of 2025 and will drop on ZEE5 before the month is over.

The big-budget action thriller, which also stars Vinay Rai and Shammi Thilakan, had its Malayalam release on January 2, 2025, and began screening its Telugu version in theatres on January 24. ZEE5, on Friday, dropped its trailer confirming the OTT release date of its first big Malayalam release of this year.

Identity OTT release date: When, where to watch Tovino Thomas’ film

Identity will begin streaming on ZEE5 from January 31 onwards. The movie will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The big-budget film had a decent run at the box office, and was praised more for its action sequences that also involve stunts inside an aircraft.

The film revolves around its three main characters – police officer Allen, journalist Alisha and Haran, essayed by Vinay Rai, Trisha and Tovino, respectively. The latter is roped in to help the duo catch an elusive killer as Alisha, who suffers from a cognitive condition, remembers by his facial features. However, as the case progresses, the trio doubt each other’s intentions, especially with the stakes becoming higher.

Reasons to watch Identity on ZEE5

Tovino essays the role of Haran, a character with his own set of quirks to perfection. The performances of both Tovino and Vinay Rai, who go head-to-head with each other and mirror personalities that are similar and yet contrasting, keep the audiences on the edge of their seats.

The film also has some slick action scenes – be it a car chase or thrilling sequences inside a commercial as well as chartered flight. It’s probably the first-of-its-kind in Malayalam cinema. Also, the final reveal of each character’s true personalities were also lauded in theatres.
