The very name of Sharib Hashmi needs absolutely no introduction. He is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood right now. The hype for this man is so much amongst the filmmakers that they have started writing roles keeping Sharib and his extreme talent in mind. After having grown up in an ‘paternal environment’ that included visiting film sets and meeting stars, Sharib is one of those few individuals who can proudly claim of ‘having realised his dream’.

All thanks to my father and his profession, I was introduced to the enchanting world of cinema quite early in life. That also got me attracted and magnetised to the glitz and glamour. Being a kid, I was extremely fascinated by all such stuff. There were many stars who had visited our house.

I never wanted to be an actor, but…
I never wanted to be an actor as I wanted to be a hero! But, I had my own inhibitions when I started growing up. That’s why I buried my aspirations and started working as an Assistant Director. When I was 33 years old, I wanted to give acting a try, as I did not want to live the rest of my life in regret!

I have two kids- son named Shayaan and daughter named Inaaya
As of now, my son Shayaan is like the Hrithik Roshan of Lakshya. He is yet to find his lakshya (smiles). He is showing interest in films, but his future is totally upto him. Whatever he does, he has my total support.

The initial script had my character as a Bengali (Mr. Ghosh). But upon brainstorming, I told Raj and DK (the show’s makers) that I will start talking with a Marathi accent because he wanted me to show him variations. That’s why my character Ghosh then became Talpade.

Journey from not attending the Filmfare Awards till hosting the awards…
The moment I was offered to host the show, I immediately said yes. I told them that Even if they refuse me, I said I will still come and do it. But I had a great time hosting the event!
