The actor, whose upcoming sports drama Blue Star is slated to release on January 25, opened up about his 15-year-old journey in Kollywood. In a recent interview, the actor was asked about his take on the nepotism debate, and the Paava Kadhaigal star quickly shared his thoughts on the controversial subject.

The actor explained that he doesn't believe that he is a product of nepotism and went on to explain what the term actually means. “Nepotism is when you replace another person’s opportunity by filling his position through unfair advantages or influences, right? If that was the case, why did it take Bhagyaraj’s son to find a foothold in the industry after 15 years?”, the actor sought to know.

He went on to say that if he had been a product of nepotism, he could have used the help of his father (director Bhagyaraj) to get roles in acclaimed filmmakers’ projects. “I would have easily been cast in a Shankar sir or Mani Ratnam sir film if my father helped. So, I believe that you can only be successful if your film does well. Only then can you move to the next step”, the actor said.
