With only a few hours left for the release of H Vinoth's much-awaited action thriller Valimai, starring Ajith in the lead, fans are excited, to say the least. It's after a long time that Kollywood is witnessing the last minute rush for FDFS tickets among hardcore fans and enthusiasm among exhibitors getting ready to screen shows as early as 4 am in the morning.

The film, produced by Boney Kapoor, marks Huma Qureshi's second outing in Tamil after Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala. A release issued by the team says that the actress is eagerly awaiting for the release of the big budget movie.

According to Huma, she considers Valimai as a special film in her career as she believes the project offered her a never-before opportunity to explore her potential. She was quoted as saying, "Vinoth sir has developed my role of a honest cop in such a way that she has many action scenes to pull off. Unlike our regular movies which have action scenes made only for male actors, he ensured that female characters, too, have plenty of scope to indulge in action."

On working with Ajith, Huma added, "I was overwhelmed when I was approached to play a role in Valimai. I was excited to act along with one of the biggest stars of the country. In fact, many do not know that both of us were supposed to act together in Billa 2."

"Ajith sir and I share screen time for quite long time in Valimai. I can't wait for the audience to watch the movie," she said excitedly.

Valimai was earlier slated for a theatrical release in January 13, but the outbreak of third wave of COVID made the makers postpone the release to February 24. Valimai is hitting the screens in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi under the same title.
