The FDFS experience of Ajith-starrer Valimai was a first-of-its-kind experience for Huma Qureshi. The excited actress had shared a video of her sitting inside her car outside a theatre in Chennai even as fans were impatiently waiting to see a glimpse of her. She also thanked fans and others associated with the movie for the memorable experience.
Her character, Sofia, that of a cop from her sophomore Tamil project, received appreciation from critics and audience alike. She has been eagerly sharing posts related to the film's box office figures from her social media handle.
Now, the actress has celebrated the success of Valimai at the shooting location of Maharani 2. She is seen cutting a cake which has 'Congrats Huma for Valimai success' written on it, along with the crew members. The shooting of the second instalment of the series is expected to wrap up later this month.
The project, a political drama, was earlier said to be dropping as a summer release on SonyLIV. The first instalment started streaming on the platform in May 2021. Directed by Karan Sharma, Maharani has Sohum Shah, Amit Sial, Kani Kusruti and Inaamulhaq among others essaying notable roles.
Meanwhile, Valimai, which crossed 100 crores at the box office, is said to be raking in decent numbers on weekdays as well across Tamil Nadu. The action thriller directed by H Vinoth was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi on February 24. The movie produced by Boney Kapoor was the biggest release for any film in Tamil Nadu.
The producer and exhibitors had expressed happiness at the movie's response among viewers a few days ago. After the film opened to mixed reviews, the makers had trimmed around 15 minutes. The new version started screening in theatres from February 27.
