To celebrate 30 years of release, one of the most iconic Indian films ‘Karan Arjun’ will be re-released in theatres. The film, starring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in the lead roles is known for its storyline, songs, and performances. Ahead of its re-release, director, and producer Rakesh Roshan talked about the film’s remake and also revealed who according to him could be modern-day Karan-Arjun. Read on to know all the details!
In a conversation with Etimes, Rakesh Roshan said that he does not want to remake his iconic film, Karan Arjun. However, he also mentioned that if there ever was a remake he would cast Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor as Karan Arjun. He said, "I won’t remake Karan Arjun or make a sequel but If I were to think of an alternate jodi for the movie today, I would cast Hrithik Roshan as Karan and Ranbir Kapoor as Arjun".
In the same interview, Rakesh Roshan also spilled some beans about the casting of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in the film. He revealed that Salman’s physique and compelling eyes made him an ideal choice for the role of Karan. He also appreciated the actor for his fitness back in time when it was not even a trend like it is in today’s time. He wanted the character of Karan to be the one whose eyes spoke volumes despite his quiet demeanor, and according to him, Salman Khan was the perfect fit.
About SRK as Arjun, he mentioned that it happened because he worked with him in King Uncle and was also impressed by his performance in Fauji.
Meanwhile, Karan Arjun is gearing up for its theatrical release once again on November 22. The film, which is produced by Rakesh Roshan also stars Rakhee, Kajol, Mamta Kulkarni, and Amrish Puri.
