Even as the Malayali audience can’t seem to stop listening to the Darshana track from Hridayam, Vineeth Sreenivasan and his team are releasing new glimpses from the much-awaited movie, starring Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Darshana Rajendran, every week.
While the Darshana song and teaser that followed introduced Pranav’s Arun and Darshana’s character from the movie, the latest clip from the movie features Kalyani Priyadarshan’s character asking Pranav's if he has a special relationship in his life.
The teaser shows that Pranav's character reliving his college days - from the fun days in the hostel with his friends, the fights, the cultural programmes to his romance with Darshana and their fallout. But that's not all, we also get to see Darshana's character at a later phase in her life.
The film, which will mark Merryland Cinemas comeback film, is scheduled to hit theatres in January 2022. While it has not been officially announced, the reports suggest that the makers are looking at a January 21, 2022 release date that will leave it almost three weeks until Mollywood’s next big release – Mohanlal’s Aaraattu which will hit theatres on February 10, 2022.
Hridayam is Vineeth’s biggest directorial till date and the hype surrounding the film is one of the major reasons the makers didn’t opt for an OTT release despite being approached by several leading streaming platforms.
Both Vineeth, Pranav and the film’s producer Visakh Subramaniam were keen to release the movie in theatres as it had all entertaining elements that make for a cinematic experience. With 15 songs, this coming-of-age tale is expected to break records in the industry. Meanwhile, both Pranav and Kalyani will be seen together on screen in the upcoming Mohanlal-starrer Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham.
