House of the Dragon season 2’s latest episode, the second episode, has introduced us to a new and important character. He is going to be a dragon rider in the future. That’s right, after Hugh, we meet a new dragon rider in the latest episode. He is related to Alyn of Hull. Have you guessed it yet?
Who is he?
We’re talking about Addam, who is Alyn’s brother. Addam is a shipwright from Hull who is working on the Velaryon fleet. Addam urges Alyn to sail with the Sea Snake, Corlys. He believes it is a way to make a fortune, and he would have done it too.
What will happen to Addam in the future?
In the distant future, according to George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, Addam will claim Seasmoke, who is the former dragon of Rhaenyra’s husband, Laenor Velaryon. In the episode itself, Addam observes a dragon which many assume could be Seasmoke, while picking up a crab from the beach.
Interestingly, a little backstory suggests that Addam and Alyn’s mother Marilda kept stating that her sons were Laenor Velaryon’s bastards. Mushroom, on the other hand, is of the belief that Corlys is their father. In the future, Addam gets legitimized as a Velaryon and becomes the heir to Driftmark.
As a dragon rider, Addam helps Rhaenyra claim King’s Landing, and even defend it. Eventually of course, death awaits Addam and Seasmoke in a dragon fight.
Hugh introduced in episode 1
The last episode introduced Hugh, a part of Rhaenyra Targaryen’s faithful associates. He will eventually fight Otto Hightower. 16 men failed while trying to ride the mighty Dragon Vermithor, but thanks to his incredible strength, Hugh claimed the position.
So far, we know that Hugh rides Vermithor, Jacaerys rides the dragon Vermax, Addam rides Seasmoke, Ulf White rides Silverwing, and Nettles will ride Sheepstealer.
A new episode of House of the Dragon airs on Sunday, 9 pm ET, which means it is available at 6.30 am each Monday. The show is streaming on Jio Cinema.
