George R.R. Martin announced on his personal blog that the filming of the prequel series has been wrapped.
House of Dragon, the upcoming prequel series to HBO’s fan-favourite show Game of Thrones, is one of the most anticipated shows in the making. The latest update about the series is that it has wrapped filming.
“Exciting news out of London — I am informed that shooting has wrapped for the first season of ‘House of the Dragon,” George R.R. Martin wrote in his blog. “Yes, all 10 episodes. I have seen rough cuts of a few of them, and I’m loving them,” he added
He also mentioned that a lot more work like special effects, color timing, score, all the post production work are still to be done but the directing, acting and writing looks terrific.
The 10 episode series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and its characters, focuses on the mighty House Targaryen. The show is touted to travel through the beginning of the end of House Targaryen including their civil war, which was later called as the “Dance of the Dragons”.
The show is set to air on HBO this year, but no particular date has yet been confirmed by the makers. Martin also wrote on his blog that he knows no details about the show’s potential premiere date.
Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow in Game of Thrones also took to social media yesterday to share a post related to the prequel. Harington took to Instagram to share a new poster for the show, which looks really interesting.
