Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare Telugu release: The boys set a date with audiences
Nithin Krishnamurthy’s debut directorial was a massive hit in its Kannada original version and is now set to enthral Telugu audience as Boys Hostel

For a while, there was a sense of excitement and intrigue surrounding director Nithin Krishnamurthy’s directorial debut, Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare. A comedy set in a college hostel for boys, the film caught the attention of audiences with the innovative promotional campaigns , Closer to the release, Simple Star Rakshit Shetty came onboard as presenter to lend the might of his banner Paramvah Studios to the film. Despite coming to theatres on a day when Hollywood biggies like Oppenheimer and Barbie also opened, Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare had a spark that audiences recognized and fanned to make it a wildfire that spread fast and wide.

Within days, it became the most-talked about film, filling theatres and raking in the moolah. For a small-budget film by a newbie team, the box office collections it managed was phenomenal. The film follows the aftermath of the ‘death’ of the warden of the Thunga Boys Hostel and was widely praised for its comedy, with characters dropping punchlines one after the other, making it an absolute laughter riot.

Telugu release plans
Following the film’s good reception at the box office, there were requests from Telugu audiences to release it as a dubbed version, which the team had been working on. In fact, several of the original cast members have dubbed for their characters in the film. Called Boys Hostel the film will release in theatres on August 26. Annapurna Studio and Chai Bisket Films will release the film in Andhra and Telangana areas.

Incidentally, the film’s Telugu release almost coincides with the OTT premiere of the Kannada version . According to reports, Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare had been picked up by Zee Network for its satellite and digital rights, with the streaming date on Zee5 Kannada fixed for August 25. There has been no official confirmation on this though.
