A collaborative effort of Hattrick Hero Shivarajkumar’s Shri Mutthu Cine Services and Sakkath Studios, the show, which was released in Telugu earlier, is now getting an outing in its original version.
One of Century Star Shivarajkumar’s earliest web series productions, Honeymoon, was released with a Telugu version on Aha way back in November 2020. Since then, Kannada audiences back home have been patiently waiting for an update on when the original version would release. Last week, Voot Select had announced that the six-episode show, which has Nagabhushana and Sanjana Anand in the lead, is coming to the platform. And now, we have a streaming date as well.
Earlier today, Shivarajkumar joined the team of Voot Select to release the official Kannada trailer of the show and announced that it would be available to stream starting May 20th. “Shivarajkumar commented, “I was more than excited to be a part of my daughter’s production venture, Honeymoon. The series is a liberal take on the arranged marriage set up in India, which I found relatable when I first read the script.” Written by leading man Nagabhushana, the plot of Honeymoon follows the events that unfold after a newlywed couple, Praveen (played by Nagabhushana) and Tejaswini (Sanjana Anand), head to Kerala for their honeymoon after tying the knot in an arranged marriage. With an unconventional marriage of a timid man and an outspoken dominant woman, the story of this romantic drama focuses on Praveen and Tejaswini’s unforgettable honeymoon rife with major ups and downs. The Kannada web series also stars Pawan Kumar, Apoorva Bharadwaj, Anand Ninasam and Archana Kottige in supporting roles.
In a statement about the show, Nagabhushana said, “I wrote Honeymoon at a time when OTT was full of crime thrillers and murder mysteries. While the Kannada market is new to the concept of web series itself, I wanted to challenge myself by writing a romcom that would make the youth laugh.”
Honeymoon is a collaborative project between Shri Mutthu Cine Services, led by Shivarajkumar’s daughter Niveditha and Sakkath Studios.
