Hiccups & Hookups teaser: Lara Dutta, Prateik Babbar, Shinnova redefine modern-day family in upcoming series

Lionsgate Play has dropped the teaser for Hiccups & Hookups starring Lara Dutta Bhupathi, Prateik Babbar, and Shinnova in the leading roles. The series is about this stunning trio who will redefine how families behave and act in the comfort of their homes. The teaser gives a glimpse into how it's time to be friends with your family. It can be called a breath of fresh air as we often hide our good and poor relationships from our loved ones. Thus, viewers have been introduced to a family who is rethinking what families should talk about.

The teaser has Lara's character talking about finding a hookup partner after her divorce. Her onscreen brother, Prateik, shows a profile of a guy who turns out to be her daughter's ex. This hilarious banter has been captured well in the teaser.

Having grown up in Indian homes where every topic of conversation is off-topic, Hiccups & Hookups asks us to reconsider our equations. Moreover, we avoid talking about everything important to us and everything that's on our minds because we've been socialized to believe that sex and love discussions aren't appropriate around the dinner table. However, this show debunks that misconception.

The series follows the lives of three people at different periods in their lives, depicting a family that does not follow the traditional pattern of a normal family.

Talking about the same, creator of the series Kunal Kohli said in a statement that we have these illusions of beautiful families and that conventions like these are topics that parents should avoid.

The filmmaker revealed that this is the first in a series where modern relationships are explored and how layered and complicated they can be.

Kohli added that the show follows a group of family members as they discuss everything from breakfast to sexual escapades. He calls it an accurate portrayal of a modern-day family, and he shared that many modern-day families are capable of having open and honest dialogues about the most personal aspects of their existence.

From November 26, Kunal Kohli's Hiccups & Hookups will be available on Lionsgate Play.
