Hey Sinamika, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari, is hitting the screens on March 3 in Tamil and Telugu. The makers have released four songs composed by Govind Vasantha from the movie so far. Leading dance choreographer Brindha Gopal is making her directorial debut with the film.
Madhan Karky has penned screenplay, dialogues and lyrics for the movie which has been bankrolled by Jio Studios, Global One Studios and Viacom18 Studios. Preetha Jayaraman and Radha Sridhar have cranked the camera and edited the project respectively. Nakshatra Nagesh, Mirchi Vijay, Koushick, Abhishek Kumar and Pradeep Vijayan, too, play key roles in the film.
The shooting of the movie went on floors two years ago and the makers had plans to release it a year ago. However, the pandemic spoiled their plans. Later, they mulled over releasing it in December last year and February this year, but finally postponed it to March 3.
SS Moorthy and Senthil Raghavan have helmed the art department of the project which is Dulquer's second straight movie in Kollywood. His last release in Tamil was Desingh Periyasamy's Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (streaming on Netflix). His last outing in Malayalam, Kurup (streaming on Netflix), had a Tamil dubbed release, though.
Billed as a romantic drama, Hey Sinamika revolves around the relationship between Yaazhan and Mouna, played by Dulquer and Aditi Rao respectively. After a rough patch in their lives, Malarvizhi (Kajal) enters Yaazhan's life. How Mouna copes up with the situation forms the rest of the story.
This is the first time the three actors are coming together for a project. The makers hope that the fan base all of them enjoy in Tamil and Telugu will work in favour of the movie's box office aspect. According to a source, the movie will be available to stream on Netflix and Voot post its theatrical release.
