The team of Heropanti 2 recently made their way to The Kapil Sharma Show to promote their new movie. Besides actors Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, composer AR Rahman also made an appearance where he spoke about the movie's music.
The Oscar-winning composer spoke about how he recently discovered Bollywood greats like Madan Mohan, SD Burman, Hridaynath Mangeshkar and others, whose work has served as inspiration for Heropanti 2's soundtrack.
According to the entertainment portal Koimoi Rahman elaborated further on the music of the movie and said, "I think in today’s time the music is very interesting, it serves the movie but the musicality I think is definitely from the 60’s and 50’s period. The lyrics and the tune of the singer and everything are like a university by itself."
The composer was also asked to comment on the Will Smith-Chris Rock controversy at the recent Oscar ceremony. After Rock cracked a joke on Jada Pinkett Smith's hair, her husband and actor Smith walked up to the stage and slapped the comedian.
Rahman said that he has met with Smith and believes him to be a "sweetheart" before adding that such incidents happen to the best of people.
In March last year, Shroff had announced his "absolute privilege" of having Rahman compose the music for his sequel. The lyrics for all songs are written by Mehboob, which marks his comeback. The two have previously worked together with choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan on Rangeela.
