Vijay in Beast

Only a few more hours are left for the FDFS of Beast to happen in several places. Fans of Vijay are ready to welcome their matinee idol after a 15-month hiatus. The first show of the movie will begin at 4 am tomorrow in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and other territories.

It is expected that the action flick might surpass the existing day one BO records in Tamil Nadu. The movie is releasing in more than 900 theatres in the state. However, news doing the rounds has left fans of the actor disappointed.

The much-awaited film will not be released in Karur district. According to sources, distributors and exhibitors could not come to terms with regard to the business model and the latter decided not to screen the film in any theatres of the district. Though there are theatres which screen Beast in the outskirts of the town, movie lovers express concern over the lack of proper planning from the team.

It has to be seen to what extent this will affect the movie's overall box office collection on the day of release. Earlier, the governments of Kuwait and Qatar had announced a ban on the film, which is poised to put a dent on its GCC collection.

Earlier today, many fans of the star were pointing out the fact that regular booking for the film hasn't begun in many parts of North India. Later, a few theatres in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune opened booking. Fans have been reacting harshly on distributors who bagged theatrical rights of Beast in North India.

The movie is releasing in record number of theatres in Kerala, and it has already registered the second best opening for a Tamil film in the US going by the premiere numbers.
