The film is reportedly the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film, Mumbai Police.
Producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and actor Shahid Kapoor have teamed up for a film that will be helmed by Rosshan Andrews. The actor and the producer settled on an action-thriller following multiple meetings.
The filming will begin in November, according to a report in The Times of India. The pre-production stage of the film is now underway. The source went on to say that the film will be filmed in Mumbai as well as other actual locales. A few scenes in the movie will also be shot on a set. In the movie, Shahid will take on a different role as an avatar that has never been seen before. This will be Rosshan Andrews' debut Hindi film and will be a remake of his directorial, Mumbai Police.
According to a source who spoke to Peeping Moon, Shahid has granted his verbal approval and will sign the contract after the final narration, which is anticipated to happen next month.
The original, which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, was about a police officer who was concurrently dealing with partial memory loss and a murder investigation. According to reports, Kapoor would portray a careless, carefree officer who investigates this case and discovers how it relates to his history. A well-known South Indian female actor will be cast opposite Kapoor if everything goes according to plan.
In addition, the actor will appear in the next action-adventure film by Ali Abbas Zafar and the web series Farzi by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. The actor will be making his OTT platform debut with this. He'll also play the lead in a movie produced by Dinesh Vijan. According to rumours, Kriti Sanon has been cast as the film's female lead.
Meanwhile, Shahid was last seen in Jersey which was also the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name. The film failed to create an impressive mark at the box office but is enjoying a successful run on Netflix.
