The actors have teamed up for the first time.
In May of this year, it was announced that Shahid Kapoor and Anees Bazmee were going to work together on an action comedy. Since then, there has been significant forward movement on the project. Rashmika Mandanna has been roped in to play the major role, and the crew of the film has already gone on location scouting. Dil Raju, the producer of the film Varisu, is behind the project. It is already common knowledge that Shahid and Rashmika will begin filming their scenes together at a studio in Mumbai during the first week of August.
A source disclosed to Mid Day that the movie, in which the actor plays two roles, is said to have a flavour reminiscent of the countryside. An industry insider claims that Anees and his technical team, including DoP Manu Anand and production designer Rajat Poddarr, scouted for locations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan before finalising their decision to film in the desert state. Indoor scenes will be filmed with the principal actors during the first schedule that will take place in Mumbai. The set will be designed to look like the inside of a Rajasthani haveli.
Following the team's stay in Mumbai for three weeks, there will be a break of fifteen days before they head to Rajasthan for the remainder of their itinerary. Anees intends to conduct a start-to-finish schedule in the state starting in the middle of September, and he hopes to finish a significant portion of the picture by the end of the month. After that comes the most important shooting schedule for the movie, which will take place in Mumbai and entail a lot of action. If all goes according to plan, the project will be finished before the end of the year.
This is the first time Shahid will be sharing the screen with Rashmika.
