While Liger team was promoting the film in the city, Salman Khan and Chiranjeevi were filming for a special song in Godfather
One emerging super star met an established mega star at the hub of Indian cinema recently. Yes, you guessed it right - we’re talking about how the teams of Godfather and Liger had an impromptu meeting in Mumbai a few days ago. The cast and crew of Liger were promoting the film at a mall in the city and later went to a set where a special song was being shot for Godfather.
Vijay Deverakonda, director Puri Jagannath and one of the producers, Charmee Kaur posed for an image on the sets of Godfather with Salman Khan and Chiranjeevi. The special song featuring the stars was being choreographed by Prabhudeva. Godfather is the remake of the Malayalam hit Lucifer. Salman Khan is reprising the role that Prithviraj Sukumaran had played in the original.
Chiranjeevi and Salman conveyed their best wishes for team Liger. Vijay Deverakonda, across most of his interviews, has cited how stars like Chiranjeevi are his inspiration to enter films, instilling in him the belief that outsiders could also carve a niche for themselves in the industry. Liger is Vijay’s first pan-Indian release in his career, set to hit screens on August 25 across five languages.
Two singles from the film, Akidi Pakdi and Waat Laga Denge, have released to encouraging responses from music buffs in multiple languages, going by stats on Youtube and music streaming platforms. Liger is bankrolled by Dharma Productions in association with Puri Connects. Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta are the joint producers.
Sporting legend Mike Tyson is making his Indian cinema debut with the film that also stars Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Ali, Makarand Deshpande and Getup Srinu. Vishnu Sarma has cranked the camera for Liger with Thailand-based Kecha handling stunt choreography. Jonny Shaik Basha and Junaid Siddiqui are the art director and editor respectively.
