be held tomorrow in Chennai. Ahead of the launch, the team released a video in which Pa Ranjith and the film's composer Tenma discuss the music of the film. Talking about how he got on board, Tenma says, " Ranjith sir and I had met after we had had a huge argument. The moment we put an end to the argument, the first question he asked me was, 'will you do a film with me?'."
Talking about why he picked Tenma, Ranjith says, " I have been working with Santhosh Narayanan in my films. Natchathiram Nagargiradhu is a film that's a tad different from the kind of films I have made so far. When I was thinking of making a film on the contemporary lifestyle, and mulling over the technicians I could rope in for it, I decided to go with Tenma for music. Natchathiram Nagargiradhu is set amid the backdrop of a theatre group. When you get hold of an indie artist for such a film, who does not have the cinematic style, the music will be able to connect to the audience. I spoke to him about some songs I liked and said that I needed something like this."
Tenma adds, " Ranjith sir wanted a contemporary sound, which at the same time, didn't sound too commercial. Since the backdrop was a theatre group, I stitched a lot of artistic and contemporary ideas. I broke it as an arrangement and used instruments that can be accessed easily in the environment and composed the music."
Talking about the first single, Rangarattinam, Ranjith says, "For Arivu, who has penned the lyrics, this song is very different for him. It's something that creates a lot of positive vibes, no matter how each person is. The entire song was shot inside a theatre and it helps with the introduction of the characters in the film." The film is all set to hit screens on August 31.
