Scarlett Johansson might make her exit from MCU after Black Widow.
MCU fans woke up to bad news after Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) and Natasha Romanoff, more popularly known as Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) met their end in Avengers: Endgame. Just like the viewers, the star cast too felt the event too traumatic to handle.
Scarlett, who plays Black Widow in the standalone film based on the character’s journey (Black Widow) next, recalled the time she was informed of Black Widow’s end in MCU. The actress shared more details about the narration to BBC Radio 1.
The boss at Marvel, Kevin Feige, broke the news very subtly. Scarlett shared, “I think he was nervous to tell me and sad about it, saying something along the lines of, ‘We all expected that there would have to be some big sacrifices.”
Scarlett further revealed that she was not one bit surprised that Natasha chose to sacrifice herself instead of Hawkeye, to retrieve the Soul Stone at Vormir. “I knew that she had to feel at peace with that decision and that she was doing it out of love. It had to feel like she was resolved in that decision and that decision was hers,” she shared.
Black Widow, which is likely to be Scarlett’s last film in the MCU universe, will chart Natasha Romanoff’s early years in a dysfunctional family, her wedding and showcase her transformation as a much-loved superhero. The film will release on Disney+Hotstar in India soon.
