Alaipayuthey is a 2000 Tamil romantic drama directed by Mani Ratnam and is one of the classic romance films in Tamil cinema. Set in an urban landscape, Alaipayuthey became one of the first films to show tensions between a young married couple. AR Rahman scored the music for the film.

Kannathil Muthamittal - Aha Tamil

Kannathil Muthamittal is directed by Mani Ratnam and is a poignant tale of a daughter and her relationship with her adopted family. Simran and Madhavan play a couple who adopted Amudha (Keerthana) when she was an infant. After they break the news of her adoption, she insists on meeting her birth mother who is now serving the LTTE’s war against Sri Lanka. The film has Nandita Das play the birth mother.

Anbe Sivam - Aha Tamil

Anbe Sivam is a slice-of-drama film starring Kamal Haasan, Madhavan, Kiran Rathod, Naasar, Santhana Bharathi and others. The film shows the story of two men who are forced to travel together, only to realise how they have contrasting ideologies and opinions about life.
