Her Chapter 1 on OTT: Ruhani Sharma’s thriller continues to top streaming charts

Her Chapter 1 was one of the better crime thrillers to have released in Telugu cinema this year. With its taut screenplay, crisp runtime (a little over 90 minutes) and arresting performances, the film earned good critical acclaim upon release. Ruhani Sharma, after a series of soft-natured roles, played a tough cop in the thriller and headlined the film with confidence.
The thriller was directed by a debutant Sreedhar Swaraghav, who shot to fame with his popular short film Aayudham a few years ago. While the film had a limited run in theatres, it later premiered on the leading OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. The reach of Her Chapter 1 had only widened post its streaming premiere. The film began streaming globally on September 15 across multiple languages.

Despite completing 60 days post its streaming premiere, Her Chapter 1 remains a constant presence in the top-most viewed list on Amazon Prime Video. While the film currently is the 10th most viewed film on the streamer in India, it has consistently featured among the top 5 titles in recent weeks. It’s impressive that the quality product is finally getting its due, even though it’s on OTT.
The film revolves around Archana Prasad, a top cop, who loses her partner in a shootout and is suspended from work briefly. She is back with bang in the form of an investigation of a twin murder of Swathi and Vishal Pasupuleti. What constraints that Archana needs to face while she finds the killer(s)? Ruhani Sharma’s film is currently available to watch in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Vikas Vasishta, Sanjay Swaroop, Pradeep Rudra, Vinod Varma, Jeevan and Ravi Varma played other crucial roles in the film produced by Raghu Sankuratri and Deepa Sankuratri under Double Up Media. Pavan scored the music.
