Now that Rakshit Shetty and director Hemanth M Rao are speaking about Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A for its Telugu release to members of the Telugu media who have seen the film already, the questions the duo are facing are more precisely focused on certain elements in the narrative. Given that it’s three weeks since the Kannada original came out, there’s no room for a spoiler alert anymore while talking about the film. During one of his recent interviews for Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati Side A, Hemanth was asked a question about the necessity of including glimpses of Side B at the end of the film. The contention in the question was that by adding Side B visuals, instead of ending the film with Priya (Rukmini Vasanth) opening a door after her wedding, it diluted the effect.

Hemanth, though, did not agree, and said that it was a marketing call, as they were advertising a second part to a love story, something that had not been done before. For him, it was also about tempering the expectation of what Side B is going to be about. It is Manu’s (Rakshit Shetty) story, when he comes out of jail, 10 years after being incarcerated for the hit-and-run accident that he took upon himself to save his employer’s son. The Manu and Priya story is far from over, which is something Hemanth wanted to firmly establish before letting audiences walk out of theatres. Ending the film with Priya opening the door would not have allowed him to tease the audience’s imagination about what comes next. Most importantly, though, as a filmmaker, the end goal of creating shock in his viewers is not an exciting factor. He wanted to leave audiences with an emotional after effect and that is why the post-credit scenes of Side B have been included.

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A released in theatres on September 1, with the Telugu version following three weeks later. The Malayalam release is slated for September 28. Side B’s Kannada version will be in theatres on October 20, for Dasara, with the Telugu version coming a week later on October 27.
