Dharmendra has also skipped his grandson Karan Deol's pre-wedding festivities
The Deol household is abuzz with joyous celebrations as Bollywood actor Sunny Deol's son, Karan Deol, prepares to marry his long-time girlfriend. He will tie the knot with Drisha Acharya on June 18. The couple is said to have gotten engaged on the wedding anniversary of Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur.
In recent news, it has been reported that Karan’s step-grandmother Hema Malini will not be present at the wedding in Mumbai. Interestingly, Dharmendra had also revealed that he would not be attending his grandson's pre-wedding festivities.
Hema Malini will not be present at Karan and Drisha’s wedding due to what is described as a ‘dignified distance’ she maintains from Dharmendra’s first family. A source informed ETimes, “Hemaji has always maintained a dignified distance from Dharamji’s first family. So, no, she is not attending. Even asking this question is ridiculous.”
The little birdie further revealed that Hema Malini's daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol will be attending the wedding along with their respective spouses but will make a brief appearance. Sunny has extended the wedding invitations to his step-sisters and they are expected to be there for a short time.
Interestingly, both Sunny and Bobby Deol did not attend either Esha’s wedding in 2012 or Ahana Deol's big day in 2014. This was to show support towards their mother, Prakash Kaur.
Dharmendra is missing out on Karan’s pre-wedding festivities because he believes that they might feel restricted with his presence. “I don't want them to miss out on any of the fun,” he had said. The also whole-heartedly welcomed Drisha to the Deol family.
