Hellboy: The Crooked Man New Trailer Release Date Revealed
While we await the release of this year's history-making superhero movies, another iconic hero who exists outside the MCU and DCU universes is also making his return. We’re talking about the Right Hand of Doom, who is coming back to the big screen from the comics in Hellboy: The Crooked Man. The movie has been the talk of the town for the past few weeks, following the release of the first trailer and promotional images. While some fans embraced the first look, others were less impressed. However, everyone involved in the making of the film insists on one thing: this is the most comic-accurate movie in the franchise. Now, we’re about to be treated to a new trailer soon.
Starring Jake Kesy, Hellboy: The Crooked Man is directed by Brian Taylor. The movie continues the story of the Right Hand of Doom, introducing a new face to the character after Ron Perlman and David Harbour. The buzz surrounding the film has been significant; even the negative conversations have contributed to its overall anticipation. Eagle-eyed fans have noticed a new glimpse of the movie shared in Vietnam and have decoded the release date of the upcoming trailer. Read on to know more.
The makers recently shared a new set of stills from Hellboy: The Crooked Man as promotional material in Vietnam. What caught the attention of fans was the reveal of the new trailer release date: August 30, 2024. Although we still have over a week to wait, the excitement among fans is palpable. The new promotional content also offers a fresh look at the Right Hand of Doom.
These new stills from Hellboy: The Crooked Man establish that this version of the character will be darker than any we’ve seen before. One of the biggest discussions surrounding the film is how the creators will manage to surpass Guillermo del Toro’s unique touch on the franchise.
Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, who recently celebrated 30 years of the character, has called Hellboy: The Crooked Man the closest adaptation to the comics and extremely accurate. According to Comicbook he said, “There is a particular moment in the church that I loved so much. I thought, 'Are they going to add special effects to that?' It’s just a quiet little moment. It could have easily been cut, but it stayed all the way through." Mignola added, “Not that I didn’t like the other movies or love bits and pieces from them, but I was so grateful to see someone truly committed to putting the comics on screen. This time, it really happened.”
Hellboy: The Crooked Man is set to release on September 27, 2024. You can watch all the Hellboy movies on Lionsgate Play with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
