Dulquer Salmaan is one of the few actors from the Malayalam film industry who has a pan-Indian appeal. Along with Malayalam films, the actor has also starred in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. His latest appearance is in singer Jasleen Royal's new video, Heeriye, which has just been released.

Heeriye is Dulquer’s first music video and non-film project.

Heeriye is a romantic track that narrates the story of a prince charming who travels far and wide to find his love. The video emphasises the power of true love, which is capable of overcoming any obstacles.

Speaking about the song, Dulquer said that some of his friends haven't stopped humming it since its release. A fan of Jasleen's work, the actor said, "I have always loved Jasleen's music; I find it soothing." He added that his daughter used to go to sleep listening to Jasleen's song Din Shagna Da from Anushka Sharma's film, Phillauri.

Dulquer also spoke about his experience working with renowned filmmakers from different industries. He said that each film and each set are different experiences for him.

“I am a director’s actor to the core. I like to work by surrendering myself to the crew. I have worked with many directors and actors from other languages and am lucky to be a part of some good projects. The writing and treatment of each film are different. Each day of my life is different because I travel to different places every day. I often feel like I am in a wonderland," Dulquer said in an interview with Hungama media.

Jasleen is known for her hit songs like Din Shagna Dha, Dear Zindagi, and Ranjha. She has composed music for Heeriye. Arijit Singh, who is known for romantic tracks like Tum Hi Ho, Channa Mereya, and Kesariya, has sung the song.

Dulquer’s upcoming film is King of Kotha, a gangster actioner that is helmed by Abhilash Joshiy. The actor will be seen in a rough mass avatar in the film, which is set in the 1980s.

King of Kotha, which is being made on a budget of Rs 50 crore, has already bagged the highest digital rights deal in Mollywood. Along with Dulquer, the film also stars Shammi Thilakan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Anikha Surendran, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Gokul Suresh.

Zee Studios is backing the film, along with Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films. Touted to be the biggest film of Dulquer’s career, King of Kotha will release in theatres on August.
