Heeramandi - Sonakshi Sinha recalls Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave 'standing ovation' for Tilasmi Bahein
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar actress Sonakshi Sinha revealed how Sanjay Leela Bhansali reacted after she performed Tilasmi Bahein. The series will stream on Netflix on May 1.

Sonakshi Sinha has impressed everyone with her song Tilasmi Bahein from Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The actress, who plays Fareedan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series, has opened up about how she shot for the entire track. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sonakshi recalled how Sanjay Leela Bhansali changed Tilasmi Bahein's choreography on set. Later, the actress gave four takes for the song, but it was the first take which was finalised. Following her performance, Sonakshi received a standing ovation from everyone on set, including the maverick filmmaker.

Sonakshi Sinha said the day she shot for Tilasmi Behin was magical. The actress recalled how everyone on the Heeramandi set reacted after her first take for the song. "I still can't believe it and once that first take was over, the entire set broke into a standing ovation, including Sanjay sir! I don't think I have seen him so happy and ecstatic ever! Even he couldn't believe it and he was like, ‘You don’t know what you have done! You don't know what caliber of an actor you are!'," she recalled.
The actress also mentioned Sanjay Leela Bhansali changed the choreography of Tilasmi Bahein on set. Sonakshi had rehearsed for something completely different and they had kept only four days aside for Tilasmi Bahein's shoot.

The Heeramandi actress revealed she had to learn the new choreography of the song. However, she was quick to catch up with the steps while listening to the track. "I don't know what hit me because I had not done a one-shot song in my entire career and there I was, doing a one-shot song for Sanjay Leela Bhansali!," added Sonakshi.

Meanwhile, Sonakshi will be seen alongside Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Shaikh. Created by SLB, the web series will premiere on Netflix on May 1, 2024.
