Sanjay Leela Bhansali once again delivered a magnum opus, this time in the form of a series titled Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Recently, in an interview, the filmmaker shared an interesting anecdote about one of his most-talked-about characters from the show, Tajdar, played by Taha Shah Badussha. While Taha is receiving a lot of love from the viewers for his performance, did you know that his character has been inspired by the filmmaker's real-life relationship with his father?

Taha plays the role of Tajdar, who has a strained relationship with his father in Heeramandi. In a conversation with Pinkvilla, when Sanjay Leela Bhansali was asked about the strained relationship that most of his movies showcase has any connection. The filmmaker revealed that it is inspired by his real life.

He said, “Yeah, I feel that a lot of scenes that show every filmmaker has a certain life that he’s led and all the impressions of whatever he’s gone through or how he’s reacted or what he’s suffered or what he enjoyed or what he has loved, achieved and not achieved."

"Everything becomes a part of how you react, and therefore you choose a particular subject because it allows you to express those things that you’ve experienced in life,” he added.

Describing further, Bhansali said, "I firmly believe that you choose the life where you want to be born because you have to go through it to become somebody. Therefore, I have chosen the life where I have wanted to be born and have gone through everything with my parents to finally realize that I'm using it all in some way in my work."

However, the filmmaker also believes that every relationship, be it between parents or siblings, it should have problems so that the child's mind is evolving according to it and then they can dream about doing things in life that their parents are not required to agree.
