Sharmin Segal has been trolled for her portrayal of Alamzeb in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Here's what her co-star Adhyayan Suman has to say about it.
Sharmin Segal has been at the receiving end of criticism after Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar released on Netflix. The actress played the role of Alamzeb in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's series. However, Sharmin has been trolled for her facial expression in Heeramandi. After receiving harsh comments on social media, the actress disabled the comment section. Amid this, Adhyayan Suman, Sharmin's co-star from the series, feels it is unfair to troll the actress.
In an interview with News18, Adhyayan Suman reacted to his Heeramandi co-star Sharmin Segal being subjected to trolling on social media. The actor stated he isn't aware of the amount of backlash Segal has received because he has heard only good things about her. Not knowing about personal attacks made at her, Suman added that many star kids face trolling.
Further, when Adhayayn was informed about comments on Sharmin's facial expressions in Heeramandi, the actor added, "It’s very unfair. As a viewer, one has the right to discuss an actor’s performance. But if they go beyond that and make personal attacks, it shakes you. Not everyone can fight their way out of it."

Adhyayan cited his example mentioning that he has witnessed a lull for 13 years in his acting career. However, not everyone can come fighting out of it as Suman believes it is not easy. The actor opined that some people might think of giving up and not pursuing their career further. And that is the reason Adhyayan believes the trolling is unfair.
Meanwhile, Adhyayan Suman has essayed the role of Zoravar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi. The actor is also seen playing the younger version of his dad Shekhar Suman's character Zulfikar. Apart from them, the star cast includes Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Manisha Koirala and Aditi Rao Hydari.
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar was released on Netflix on May 1, 2024.
