Heart of Stone: Alia Bhatt reveals how she became a part of Gal Gadot-starrer

Alia Bhatt is witnessing a stellar year. Apart from milestones in her personal life, the actress seems to be killing it on the work front as well, with her past three releases this year, Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR and Darlings, earning rave reviews. The actress also wrapped up filming for her debut Hollywood project Heart of Stone, starring Gal Gadot. Alia recently opened up about how she came to be a part of the film.

In a recent interview, as reported by Pinkvilla, Alia revealed that her team had sent her the script to Heart of Stone. After going through the script, the actress had a meeting with the film’s director, Tom Harper, via Zoom. She marvelled at how she was able to meet the director via video conferencing, rather than flying over to see him in person.

Gal’s involvement in the project was also a big factor in Alia saying yes to the film. “I heard that Gal Gadot was going to be starring in it and was also producing it, which I was extremely excited about because I am such a huge admirer of her work and just the person, the force that she is”, said Alia.

In an earlier interview with Filmfare, Alia had spoken of how supportive Gal and her husband had been. Gal had said it was ‘amazing’ and her husband had called the news a ‘good omen’. Alia also opened up about how comfortable the cast and crew of the film had made her, and said she had a really fun time shooting for it.

Meanwhile, Alia will next be seen in the Ayan Mukerji directorial, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are also expected to have cameo roles in the film, which is slated for release on September 9.
