Is there anything that could go wrong with Samantha's career? After establishing herself as a name to reckon with in the mainstream space, the actress has wonderfully channelised her popularity to back strong content-oriented films over the years with smart selection of scripts. The results are paying off big time. While the actress awaits the release of Gunasekhar's epic drama Shaakuntalam next, several reports suggest that she has signed a new film with Karthi.

Yes, you heard it right! Samantha has apparently signed her first film with actor Karthi, which would be directed by Sathish Selvakumar. The filmmaker recently shot to fame with the GV Prakash, Divyabharathi's relationship drama Bachelor. The report claims that the actress has given her final nod for the film.

The actress has also been in the news for being paired opposite Karthi in N Lingusamy's next project as well, though it's not official yet. Samantha, who made her digital debut with The Family Man, is currently working on another OTT show directed by Raj and DK where she's paired opposite Varun Dhawan.

She is simultaneously wrapping up the shoot of her bilingual Yashoda, that also features Unni Menon, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Kalpika Ganesh in key roles. Yashoda is expected to release later this year. Samantha has also signed an international project produced by Sunita Thati of Guru Films. The actress' name is in contention for a crucial role in Nani's Dasara too.
