A new song 'Hari Har' from Akshay Kumar’s upcoming period drama Prithviraj was released today, which pays tribute to the larger-than-life historical figure and his courage on the battlefield.

Popular trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have composed the energetic track sung by Adarsh Shinde. The lyrics composed by Varun Grover draw parallels between Prithviraj and all the brave figures in Indian mythology.

The visuals span from sprawling stills of the battlefield, where soldiers and army commanders tear and slice each other down till only one party remains victorious. The video also takes us to Prithviraj’s courtroom to show how much he was revered by not just his courtiers but also his subjects.

Akshay took to Twitter and shared the song:

Manushi Chhillar who makes her feature debut with this period drama also makes an appearance as Prithviraj’s wife Sanyogita.

Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has previously helmed the 1991 TV epic show Chanakya and the 2003 Partition film Pinjar, Prithviraj is about the life and times of the ruler.

The trailer, which was released last week at YRF Studios in Mumbai, saw Akshay's character in different stages of his rule — from fighting Mohammed Ghori's invader army to falling in love with Sanyogita. His trusty aides Kaka Kanha and Chand Varai were also introduced in the clip.
