Actor and director Dhanush, is currently enjoying the success of his recent film Raayan, which has been performing well at the box office. However, what also adds to the joy is Dhanush is celebrating his birthday on Sunday. For the occasion, the makers of Raayan released a BTS video which features Dhanush directing his co-stars in the film. For the unversed, Raayan is written and directed by Dhanush, who also stars in the lead role. The film released in theatres on July 26.

The video shows many glimpses in which Dhanush himself performs and shows his actors. You can see him dancing to the Water Packet song from the film, featuring Sundeep Kishan and Aparna Balamurai, work with choreographers like Prabhudheva and Baba Bhaskar. It also shows Dhanush extracting performances from actors Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, and Prakash Raj, as he himself also performs in the film.
Raayan has music by AR Rahman, which became one of the highlights and talking points of the film. The film marks Dhanush’s 50th film as actor and second film as director after Pa Paandi.
Raayan is yet to make its streaming debut, but you can catch the audio launch event on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium. The event features attendance of cast and crew who talked about their experiences in the film. Dhanush and AR Rahman also performed at the event.

Raayan features an ensemble star cast including Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Saravanan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and others. The gangster action drama is set in the suburbs of north Chennai and revolves around three brothers and a sister who get pulled into the world of violence and betrayal. The film is currently running in theatres.
