As HanuMan continues to dominate theatres, director Prasanth Varma expressed gratitude to the audience for giving him the biggest success of his career.

Director Prasanth Varma's latest movie HanuMan seems to have been the top choice for movie-goers during the extended holiday weekend. The film has managed to recoup three times its actual budget within the first four days of its release, becoming the first bonafide box office hit of Telugu cinema in 2024.

According to the producers, HanuMan is dominating big screens, giving the director's first-ever movie to breach the coveted Rs 100 mark at the box office. "My first century in films," tweeted Prasanth, while confirming the news about the movie's box office success.

Prasanth also expressed gratitude to the audience for giving him the biggest success of his career. In a heartfelt note, he wrote, "THANK YOU With my heart full of love and gratitude I want to say these two words to all the fabulous cinelovers who made #HANUMAN a tremendous success All your responses, appreciations & unlimited love made me whole for the past few days and i will gently keep it with me for the rest of my life Once again Thank You for spreading #HanuManEverywhere," he said.

As per reports, HanuMan has managed to earn more than Rs 50 crore in India alone. The film faced several challenges due to the sheer number of new releases in Telugu targeting the Sankranti holiday. It received the least number of single screens compared to Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, Daggubati Venkatesh's Saindhav and Nagarjuna's Naa Saami Ranga.

The producers even approached governing bodies within the Telugu film industry accusing a section of stakeholders of indulging in unfair trade practices against HanuMan. And yet, the movie has managed to put up a strong show at the box office in the Telugu states. According to reports, the film has earned more than Rs 23 crore during its four-day extended weekend in the Telugu states.

In the meantime, HanuMan has also found a lot of takers in the Hindi heartland. Popular film trade analyst Taran Adarsh claimed that the Hindi version of HanuMan has earned a little more than Rs 16 crore in the first four days.

HanuMan has also struck a chord with audiences in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, thanks to strong word of mouth. It remains to be seen whether the film can maintain this momentum during the coming days.
